NEW MATERIAL:The title compound of formula I (R<1>,R<2>=H, alkyl; R<3>=H, acyl, aroyl). EXAMPLE:5-Acetoxy-3-undecen-2-one. USE:Synthetic intermediate of 1,4-diketone which is a dihydrojasmone used for perfumes or its precursor. Dihydrojasmones can be synthesized with simple operations from the intermediate. PROCESS:A compound of formula I is obtained by treatment of alpha-sulphenyl-alpha,beta- enone of formula II (R<4>=alkyl, aryl), which is obtained by the oxidation of a sulphenylenone compound, with a base (e.g. triethylamine, diethylamine etc.) in a protonic solvent (water, methanol etc.) or an organic carboxylic acid anhydride. R<3> is H when the protonic solvent is used, and R<3> is acyl or aroyl when the organic carboxylic acid anhydride is used. |
