<p>PURPOSE:To protect insulator sleeves from the flashover due to the open/close surge, by interposing electrode plates having electrodes between lock nuts and the insulator sleeves provided at one or limited several places along the circumference of sheath flanges. CONSTITUTION:When the insulator sheath flanges 1, 2 are connected to each other through an insulator spacer 3 and a spacer adapter 4, the electrode plates 9 having the electrodes 9a are provided at one or limited several places along the circumference of the flange 1. Since the electrode 9a and the sheath flange 2 have the same potential and a gap is defined between the other sheath flange 1 and the electrode 9a, the flashover due to the open/close surge will surely occur in the gap. Only the connected section including the electrode plate 9 is enclosed with an opaque cover 10. Thus, the light and sound of the flashover are prevented from leaking out and the insulator sleeve 5 is protected.</p> |
