PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of light at the coupling portion and propagate light with low loss by making the width of one optical guides having been coupled larger than the optical path width of the plural guides to be coupled. CONSTITUTION:When the optical path face of the optical guides 1' and 2' to be coupled is let to be d'', the optical path face of the optical guide 3' having been coupled is let to be 2d''. Then, when the locus of rays is inverted by mirror faces A, A' and is equivalently viewed, it is equivalent to the case where the optical guides of the two optical path faces d'' simply make contact with the mirror faces A, A' as a boundary, and the leakage of light does not occur. |
