1458255 Regenerating cyanate-containing baths DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBERSCHEIDEANSTALT 4 March 1974 [5 March 1973] 9605/74 Heading C7U A process for regenerating a salt bath containing cyanate and carbonate prior to regeneration comprising adding a cation free polymeric organic compound containing carbon and nitrogen. (e.g. melamine, polymeric hydrocyanic acid, paracyanogen, polymeric urea compound, polymeric carboxylic acid amide) to convert the carbonate into cyanate. The salt bath may be regenerated at a temperature of 570‹C, air may be passed through the melt during regeneration and the regenerated melt may be used for nitriding metal workpieces.
