PURPOSE:To obtain a constant image density by a construction wherein recording electrodes comprise a multiplicity of electrode elements arranged spaced apart along the width direction of an image carrier, and magnetic lines of force supplied between adjacent ones of the electrode elements from a developing agent-feeding means are deflected toward the electrode elements. CONSTITUTION:A multiplicity of superconductors 1-1 comprising a ceramic superconductive material are arranged on a surface of a non-magnetic cylindrical sleeve 1-5 along the axial direction of the sleeve 1-5, with gaps 1-7 between the superconductors being greater than the width of electrode elements 1-2. An insulator 1-3 is provided on the superconductors 1-1, and the electrode elements 1-2 are provided on the insulator 1-3 at locations corresponding to the gaps 1-7 between the superconductors 1-1. By the effect of the perfect diamagnetism of the superconductive material, the magnetic lines of force from a magnet roller 1-4 are concentrated on the elements 1-2 through the gaps 1-7. This causes an increase in magnetic flux density, whereby the quantities of a toner magnetically attracted onto the electrode elements 1-1 are increased, resulting in an increased image density. |
