Process for labelling proteins using technetium

The labelling of proteins using technetium-99, comprising the reduction of pertechnetate and bringing the reduced pertechnetate into contact with at least one of the proteins chosen from the group comprising fibrinogen and the immunoglobulins, to cause labelling of this protein, is described. The reduction of the pertechnetate is carried out in the presence of a reducing agent at a pH of between 11 and 12; the reduced pertechnetate is mixed with the protein and the mixture thus obtained, containing this protein labelled using technetium, is subjected to a purification making possible the removal of possible degradation products of this protein as well as the nonfixed technetium. Application especially for the specific diagnosis of a certain number of ailments such as rheumatoid polyarthritis, vascular thromboses and malignant tumours.
