PURPOSE:To provide a novel strain of fungus producing an antibiotic substance, cephamycin C. CONSTITUTION:Streptomyces todorominensis sp. nov. (no sporangium, no flagellum spore, no sclerotium, smooth spore surface, optimum temp. to growth 28- 37 deg.C, separated from soil). The fungi are cultured in a medium containing a carbon source such as glucose, a nitrogen source such as soybean flour, inorganic compounds, etc., at pH5.5-8.5 and 20-40 deg.C under aerobic conditions, and the objective compound is separated from the cultured product. |
