A method for forming a fracturable seal 30 between a plastics closure cap 20 and a plastic planar surface 27 around the neck of a container 12, wherein the cap is seated on the planar surface and a heated die 28, which surrounds the cap, is caused to be moved towards the planar surface and to melt both the plastics at the planar surface by contact therewith and the portion of the cap adjacent the planar surface, due to the proximity of the portion to the die so as to fuse the portion to the planar surface. <IMAGE> |
