The ski brake has at least one and pref. two brake legs which can be swivelled from a braking position against spring tension into a ready position by the ski boot or a sole plate through a pedal around an axis lying at right angles to the ski's length axis. Each brake leg (5) includes a section (8a) used as a turning axle held in the pedal and extending in the direction of the ski's length. This section (8a) is actuated by an elastic piece simultaneously operated by the pedal which can be splayed at right angles to the ski's length.
