<p>The handling-box, used in the pathological field etc. provides a sterile atmosphere in which contaminated items can be treated. It comprises a tunnel with a lateral access opening (c, e) traversed by a longitudinal air flow. Atmosphere pressure may be maintained in the tunnel by a double ventilation system (b, b1) which ensures that the incoming and outgoing flows are equal, and the air sterilised or otherwise treated at both inlet and outlet (a, a1). The opening may locate in a cavity wall forming a sec., tunnel (f) traversed by a faster longitudinal air-flow. Differential restrictors (g) may be used to effect the faster air current which forms a moving curtain of air across the opening, thus preventing any exchange of air between the tunnel and the exterior.</p> |
