The flow blocking arrangement is installed in front of an atomising nozzle of a pressure atomising oil burner, to deflect the combustion air in the nozzle region. The resultant flame requires only a low oil flow rate. The deflecting arrangement (10) is a circular cylindrical beaker with opening in beaker bottom in front of the nozzle (4). The beaker wall (16) has airinlet slots (22) formed by overlapping parts of the beaker wall. The beaker can be adjusted axially in the burner tube (1).
