Milling cutter for cutting chamfers - has eccentric mounting in screwed bush for ease of adjustment of depth of cut

The milling cutter (2) is used for cutting chamfers on the edges of square workpieces (4). The workpieces are supported by two inclined plates (17) (18) so that the initially sharp edge of the workpiece, projects between the lower edges of the plates. The milling cutter is mounted on a shaft which runs in an eccentric bush (5) with a screwed end (6). a knurled surface (8) enables the bush to be rotated and move axially because of the thread. This enables the depth of cut to be adjusted and also spreads the wear over the whole width of the cutter.
