PURPOSE:In a heat treatment apparatus, steel pipe transferring device is provided separately from pipe rotating device so that the velocities of steel pipe rotation and transfer are independently controlled to the best values, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The tail end steel pipe 1 is connected to the transfer device 22a, which is moved in the arrow direction 38, then the head end of the pipe is inserted into the rotation device 3a and moved quickly to the front of the heater 19 by the driving motor 29. The motor 18 actuates the rotation device 3a to 3d, which transfer the pipe in axis direction while rotating the pipe radially, whereby the pipe is heated by the heater 19 to a desired temperature and rapidly cooled by the cooler 20 to be quanched. The pipe 1 is further moved until the head end reaches the transfer device 22b, which is connected to the head end, and the transfer device 22a is disconnected. Thereafter, the transfer device 22b functions to move the pipe 1 so that the pipe 1 undergoes heat treatment and after its completion the pipe 1 is moved quickly. These cycles are repeated. |
