<p>Water-soluble sizing from a woven fabric is extracted by treating the fabric with VA=F.A.B+D litres water per 1000 kg. of fabric, and then squeezing out. F is a value from 0.07-0.09, A the wt.% of the warps in the fabric, B the wt.% of the sizing on the warps, and D the residua fluid content in the fabric in litres per 1000 kg. of fabric after squeezing. The process uses exactly enough water to remove the water-soluble sizing so that it can be recovered for further use. The recovered fluid is pref. treated with methyl cellulose alone or with aluminium salts, to remove any impurities, and then filtered. The equipment needs a washing vat, a squeezing trough and a squeezing unit.</p> |
