The dosing device's flat surface (1) has depressions in it of a desired form. At least the surface layer of the roller (3) consists of elastic material and the underpart consists of a rigid material. Alternatively, the roller may consist of a rigid material and the underpart of elastic material. A cleaning device may be provided to remove remains of adhesive from the roller. The depressions are filled with the sticky liquid and the roller is guided horizontally over the depressions in close contact with the flat surface of the underpart.
