The frame for a door incorporates a block case piece, and a base frame piece. The block case piece (19) is rounded on both of its interfacing narrow end faces (43, 44), the rounding (45) being pref. semicircular in cross-section, and beginning at roughly the level of the masonry (24). The case piece may be coated with wood veneer or plastic on the visible side. The dorr wing (16) can be fitted so that when closed its outside face (71) is set back relative to the outside areas of the case piece.
