<p>A dispenser (1) for a material wound into hollow cylindrical self- supporting roll is provided. The dispenser wall (2) or walls adjacent to the circumference of the roll are provided with a first aperture (5) through which the material (11), unwindable from the outside of the cylindrical roll can be drawn from the dispenser (1) and a wall (7) adjacent to an end face of the roll is provided with a second aperture (10) through which the material (12) unwindable from the inside of the roll, can be drawn from the dispenser (1). The dispenser may be of polygonal or circular section or may comprise a plastics film bag having a rigid insert holding the roll, Fig. 8.
