PURPOSE:To control the amt. of a molten metal adhered to a steel strip by hot dipping to a desired amt. by placing slit nozzles at the upper parts of a pair of rolls sbove half each of which is exposed to the surface of a hot dipping bath and supplying a regulated amt. of the molten metal in the form of curtains. CONSTITUTION:Exit rolls 4,4' are so arranged that above half of the surface of each roll is exposed to the surface of a hot dipping bath. At this time, the central points of the rolls are set with a difference below 30 mm in level to prevent rupture of a sheet due to dross bitten in. A molten metal sucked with metal pumps 5 is supplied onto the surface of rolls 4,4' from nozzles 6 in the form of curtains. The amt. of the metal adhered is regulatd by varying the turning speed of the rolls, the delivery vol. of pumps 5 and the coating positions of the roll surfaces. By this method a sheet, etc. uniformly galvanized in the lateral direction can be obtd. with no splash and reduced noise even if the sheet is fed at high speed. |
