RECORDING PAPER DETECTOR

PURPOSE:To monitor the carrying state of a recording paper without giving a resistance dependent upon contact to the recording paper by producing an electric and magnetic latent image outside the available picture area of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Positioning electrostatic latent images 17 at both edges of recording paper 7' are converted to electric signals by two parallel conduction plates 14. These electric signals are proportional to the charge quantity of positioning electrostatic latent images 17 and are detected by detector circuit 13 and are outputted to control circuit 12. Control circuit 12 detects by detection signals that recording paper 7' is carried normally. Further, control circuit 12 incorporates a timer to count the time from the time when recording paper 7' is cut off by cutter 8 until the time when the terminal of recording paper 7' passes through parallel conduction plates 14. As a result, the case where recording paper 7' is not carried normally due to jam occurrence can be detected.
