The diving appts. is particularly for teaching children to dive into water, and derives its diving movement from the fact that the pupil displaces his own body weight by making an upwards movement with his arms. This causes the position of the centre of gravity of the rotary part (1) of the equipment to be altered. This is turn causes the appts. to lose its equilibrium and perform the diving movement. No mechanical aid is involved in bringing about the rotary movement of the part (1) into question. The appts. conveniently has the form of a penguin with a hollow back (3) and a plate (9) on which it stands. The rotating part is attached by a rigid shaft (5) to a fixed base part (4) represented by the feet of the "bird".
