PURPOSE:To provide an untransferred toner conveying and recovering apparatus, which is free from leaving any toner in a conveyor passage, by rotationally driving a conveying member for a preset time period from the start of the cleaning operation of a latent image carrier to the end of the recovering operation of the untransferred toners to a recovery portion. CONSTITUTION:When the operations of an untransferred toner conveying member is stopped at the end of a copying process, the untransferred toners have already been discharged from first and second toner conveying members 3 and 5. A relatively small quantity of the toner is left in a third conveying member 8. The pupose of conveying and recovering the untransferred toners from the member 8 can be sufficiently attained without operating a first conveying member 4 but by operating only a second conveying member 9 for a preset time period after the ocpying process. That preset time period is made slightly longer than the time period for which the toners are completely recovered by the second conveying member 9 at a low speed after the copying process. |
