PURPOSE:To widen the range of the directivity of a corrugate con horn by making the admittance of corrugate grooves into capacitive susceptance over a frequency range of more than an octave by equipping the corrugate grooves with a dielectric board. CONSTITUTION:Corrugate grooves 3 of the corrugate conic horn equipped with the doughnut-shaped iris 2 group is provided entirely or partially with ring-shaped dielectric board 5. As a result of providing this dielectric board 5, the admittance of grooves 3 can be made into capacitive susceptance over the frequency range of more than one octave, so that the widening of the range of radiation directivity of the corrugate conic horn and the improvement of VSWR characteristics can be attained. At the time when above-mentioned dielectric board 5 is mounted on grooves 3 partially, the mounting area at the circular-waveguide-4 side is made wide. Besides this conic horn, the same effect can be obtained by a corrugate pyramidal horn. |
