<p>Safety closure for release as a consequence of its acceleration for a pre-determined time, comprises. (a) a heavy mass held in a direction opposite to that of the acceleration by a compression spring, and movable w.r.t. a drive sleeve which is stressed in the same direction as the heavy mass by a second strong spring and has a flange which the mass strikes when it has moved over a pre-determined path as a result of acceleration over a pre-determined time, (b) a locking bolt of low eight, locked by the drive sleeve as long as this is not operated by the heavy mass, and stressed by a weak spring in the same direction as the heavy mass and drive sleeve, so that it is released as a result of motion of the heavy mass over a longer path than the pre-determined path over which the drive sleeve is moved against pressure of the stronger spring, the mass of the locking bolt being such that it can just overcome the force of the weak spring so that in turn it releases the mechanism it normally locks.</p> |
