<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the measuring sensitivity, by disposing the fluorescent side optical system in a way to take in wide luminous flux effectively in the horizontal direction, and making the upper and lower planes of the measuring part of the distribution type sample cell with nontransparent material and the excitation light entering plane and fluorescence taking out plane with transparent material. CONSTITUTION:The sample solution enters from the inlet hole in the lower part of the cell, and flows obliquely upwards, then runs in the horizontal direction in a sample measuring part 6, and then flows obliquely upwards again to be discharged from the outlet hole in the upper part. In the sample passage, the measuring part 6 is shaped in a rectangular parallelopiped, in which the side in the passing direction is the longest, the side in the horizontal direction vertical to the passing direction is the next longest, and the side in the vertical direction is the shortest. Parts to black quartz pieces 7, 7' become the masks in the vertical direction simultaneously with respect to both the excitation side and the fluorescent side, but the mask in the narrower direction achieves about 80% of the intended purpose. In the wider direction of the fluorescent take-out port, a mask in adhered to the surface of a transparent quartz piece 8 according to the necessity. Thus, the strength to the fluid pressure of the sample may be increased, and the measuring sensitivity may be enhanced.</p> |
