The slurry is prepd. by the wet milling in an aqs. medium of cement clinker and gypsum which is then mixed with asbestos fibres produced by wet shredding in the same equipment. The plant employed comprises pref. a four chamber rotating barrel. Two chambers are a ball mill for cement clinker/gypsum milling, one chamber at the opposite end is for asbestos fibre shredding and one chamber in between for mixing of the two. The process and equipment permit the automated prodn. of the asbestos cement prodn. in a minimum floor space plant.
