Analogue measuring instrument with rectilinear scale - utilises optical system with skirt on galvanometer movement intercepting light

The analogue measuring instrument with pivoting motor element has flat rectangular dial on which the display is in the form of a luminous strip against luminous graduated scale. The motor element (1) comprises a galvanometer with moving frame driving a paddle (2) which has opaque skirt (3) which intercepts light emitted from the lighting block (5) towards internal face (6) of the optical block (4). This optical block contains a series of opaque and transparent parts comprising series of luminous tubes (7). This produces visible luminous rays passing through a window in the thin dial (9) under glass (10) face of the casing (10) to create luminous strip effect.
