In an automatic dispensing machine a clip is routed to distribution stations to receive various ingredients. A control circuit regulates movement of the carriage from instruction and position detector signals. An automatic dispensing machine has a keyboard with buttons permitting selection to be made. A control circuit includes number of detectors comprising holes in a conveyor operating in conjunction with luminous sources and detector cells to determine the position. The circuit receives selection input signals and controls the motor after an initialisation process has been completed to move the transporter carriage to the reference position.
