PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head of vertical magnetization system of a narrow track width by combining a pair of nearly U-form thin plate ferromagnetic material cores and a ferromagnetic material thin plate which will be an upper bottom part thereby forming the main magnetic pole core part of the specific shape. CONSTITUTION:A first core 21 and second core 22 of nearly U-form each consisting of an upper leg part l1, a lower leg part l2 and a connecting part l3 are so combined that the leg part directions become mutually opposite. A ferromagnetic material thin piece is sandwiched between the upper leg parts l1, l1 to form an upper bottom part 23 and a spacer of non-magnetic material of high conductivity is sandwiched between the lower leg parts l2, l2 to form a lower bottom part 24. The lower leg parts are formed by the curving side 20a approaching gently to a medium 26 in the A direction (advancing direction of the magnetic recording medium 26) and the straight side 2b of the angle theta created with itself and the A direction being 90 deg. or over to form the main magnetic pole core part. The abovementioned main magnetic pole is opposed to an auxiliary magnetic pole 27 with the magnetic recording medium 26 in-between, hence the magnetic flux loop is formed among the upper bottom part 23, first core 21, medium 26, auxiliary magnetic pole 27, medium 26, second core 22 and upper bottom part 23. |
