The holding frame is for a spectacles frame esp. while finishing and polishing the lenses for it. The frame is held firmly without being deformed. A bridge retainer co-operates with a bridge receptor to hold the bridge piece of the spectacles frame in position. The temple sections are held by side retainers. The holding frame is movably mounted w.r.t. a support frame along two axes at right angles to each other. A receptor surface for an edge section of the spectacles frame serves as a level reference surface. The bridge and temple retainers can be adjustable w.r.t. the holding frame.
