Device used with installations for casting epoxy resin compsns. under vacuum, where a hardener is added to a molten epoxy/quartz flour compsn. in a mixing cylinder immediately before the casting step, features a mixing cylinder cavity with an open connection with the cavity of the vacuum vessel. Used in mfr. of epoxy castings which must be homogeneous i.e. free of air and other gas inclusions, e.g. high-voltage switch gear. Reliable removal of any air and/or humidity from the hardener is ensured.
