Self propelled vibrator for ground compaction - has differential gears for imbalance shafts linked to permit continuous adjustment

The independently moving vibrating compactor has an imbalance oscillation generator, comprising two shafts with imbalance units synchronously driven opposite ways. Each shaft has a drive with differential gear, the stubs (7, 7') of these units being interconnected so as to provide compensation for drive torsional moments, and so that they can be continuously adjusted together. Connection and adjustment can be effected by a spur rack, engaging the end serration on stubs or setting-wheels. This permits adjustment which is both rapid and continuous, esp. encountering obstacles such as pavements.
