Hot air heating system for use - with oil circulated in pipes through fireplace and expansion tank to finned heat exchanger over which air is blown

The room (P) of a house has an open fireplace with a chimney (C). A copper pipe (1) in the form of a spiral coil (1a) runs through the fireplace. It is filled with oil and one end rises (2) to an expansion and air release tank (4) at the top of the building. The pipe drops from the expansion tank and enters a finned tube heat exchanger (9) which is placed within an air chamber (7). It returns from the heat exchanger to the coil (1a) in the fireplace. Oil circulates through the pipe by natural convection or with the aid of a pump. Air blown over the heat exchanger (9) is warmed by the oil and is delivered to other rooms in the building which it heats.
