<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of oceanic lives, by temporarily discharging seawater, by keeping the inside of a vessel vacuum and by drying the vessel, in a heat exchanger that uses seawater as cooling water. CONSTITUTION:A circulation water pump 4 is stopped in order to drain the water chambers 10, 11 and cooling pipes 12 of a condenser 6, and butterfly valves 13, 14 are opened. After drainage is completed, the butterfly valves 13, 14 are closed, the condenser is connected to a vacuum generator 16 by opening valves 18, both water chambers 10, 11 and the cooling pipes 12 are changed into vacuum and the condition is held until adhered lives die out. When treating as mentioned above in actual generating plants, this treating operation is held for approximate twelve hours during one generator operation time at night, etc. In plants that a plrality of condensers are installed, said operation can be performed by separating only condensers as objects from the systems by means of valves.</p> |
