Feeding apparatus for use with a sorting device comprises first and second pulleys (26, 28) which are spaced from each other with their axes of rotation parallel, a tensioned belt (22) looped over the pulleys, means (12) to deposit particulate material on the upper surface of the belt, and drive means (24) to rotate the first pulley (26) so that the belt (22) on top of the pulleys is tensioned and moved continuously from the second pulley (28) towards the first pulley (26). <IMAGE> |
