Automatic machine for crimping terminals onto wire ends - feeds terminal strip vertically so that off-cuts and insulation pieces fall clear of crimping dies

The dies (2, 3) of the crimping machine are arranged to move in a horizontal plane when closing to make the connection between a wire and a terminal. The terminals form part of a long strip (7) which is stored on a drum (6) attached to the machine. The feed of the strip into the dies is in a vertical plane. Any swarf of offcuts of metal or insulation normally falls clear of the dies. Maloperation due to incorrect die closing is largely eliminated.
