<p>The machine tightens and stamps a steel strap enclosing an item so as to join the overlapping ends together. A driving member swings up and down and indexes a tension wheel working with two or more pawls in the tightening direction by means of levers and engaging with the strap's rear end. When a predetermined degree of tension is detected, a mechanism grips the rear end and forms a notch in it. The thrust force generated by the wheel in a thrust lever with increasing strap tension actuates, on reaching an adjustable value, a release mechanism cutting in the stamping and cutter mechanism to which power is transmitted by the wheel.</p> |
