Irradiation appts. for photopolymerisation of dental plastics masses has a tubular outer housing in which is disposed with all-round lateral clearance inner housing formed by an inverted cup whose downwardly pointing end is closed by a reflector which supports an incandescent lamp. Inner housing is carried by the outer housing through the intermediary of thermally insulating spacer. Dia. of the reflector is =50 mm (pref. =45 mm) and the selectively reflecting mirror has an effective reflective range of 420 nm. The inside of the housing is black and the lamp is supplied with a stabilised current source.
