The radio telephone system has relay stations receiving signals from fixed or mobile stations in one frequency band and reradiating these signals, after amplification, in another band to other fixed or mobile stations. The relay stations are connected together by transmission links. The transmit and receive bands used by the individual relay stations overlap one another and have different bandwidths. The sum of the power spectra of the overlapping bands results in an almost constant power distribution over the entire frequency band. The advantage lies in making greater use of available bandwidth.
