<p>PURPOSE:To join two plastic foam sheets to form a smooth sheet free from stepped parts or lags, by pressing the molten joint of the sheets with tilted disc-like rolls and flat discs. CONSTITUTION:The joint surfaces 3 of the two plastic foam sheets 2 running continuously in parallel on the base plate 10 are separated with the V-shaped guide plate 12 provided in the melting part 7 by a given distance, and molten by hot air blown from the pipe 11, then led to the press welding part 8, and pressed aslant by a pair or plural pairs of disc-like rolls 13 tilted inside each other near the joint surfaces 3 and by the rotating discs 14 provided in the circular depressions flush with the base plate 10 from the bottom. The surfaces 3 are welded by the inward pressure produced with the rotation of the rolls 13 and the rotating discs 14, and then led to the smoothing part, pressed, and smoothed by the plate 15 and the base plate 10.</p> |
