PURPOSE:To prevent the adverse influences from a troubled unit and to facilitate the setting and change of a memory capacity by covering laminated cartridge units with shrouds and by connecting them with a common carriage. CONSTITUTION:A cartridge unit 1 is composed of a disc 7, a read-out and write head 8, a head holding arm 9, and an integrated read-out and write circuit, all of which are accommodated in a shround 10. A plurality of those units are overlaid one on another and connected to a spindle 6. The disc 7 of the lowermost unit 1, and the shroud 10 is attached to a base 4 through a semi-cylindrical support 12 which is equipped with upper and lowr flanges 11. The discs 7 of the units 1 other than the lowermost one are connected to one another, and the shrouds 10 are connected through a support 14. Moreover, the arm 9 and the shroud 10 are connected to a common carriage 2 and an air supply and discharge unit 5. |
