The lighting system is for a bicycle or a scooter with front and rear lighting. There is an a.c. generator driven either by the wheel or a motor at variable speed. The generator has an internal impedance with an inductive component. A capacitor is connected in series with the generator. It lies between the generator and the parallel circuit of the front and rear lights. The capacitance is chosen such that it will form a resonance circuit with the self-inductance and will resonate at low speeds.
