SELF-CONTROLLING ELECTRICAL HEATING EQUIPMENT WITH PTC HEATING ELEMENTS

The self-regulating electric heating device uses positive temp. coefficient heating elements (2) applied to one side of a heating body (1). These are in good thermal and electrical contact with the latter via a contact element (3) acting on the opposite side of each heating element. The contact element (3) has a defined heat capacitance for determining the heating up time until the operating temp. is reached and/or for reducing the max. current loading of the heating device. The pressure of the contact element (3) against each positive temp. coefficient heating element (2) is pref. adjusted via an adjustable pressure spring retaining mechanism. USE/ADVANTAGE - For soldering iron and hot air blower, esp. for mixing and heating air in combustion engine under extreme temp. conditions. Ensures good thermal contact for increased heating efficiency.
