<p>PURPOSE: To obtain precise and individualized orthodontic equipment fitted correctly to the patient-s teeth, by providing a standard unit with brackets positioned in advance by a bracket supporter, fixing these brackets on the teeth, removing other parts, and fitting a tooth-straightening bow-wire. CONSTITUTION: The bracket supporter is installed on guide equipment 2, and the brackets 4 are adjusted to the desired position of a tooth-replica by the bracket supporter 3 so that the base of openings 5 of brackets adjoining with each other lies along a bow-like curve following an idealized course 8 on the edge of the tooth-straightening bow-wire adjoining to the teeth. Negative 11 covering part of the crown of the replica is made of a material capable of setting and connected to a standard element projecting from the bracket supporter. The standard element 10, negative 11 brackets 4 and the bracket supporter 3 form a standard unit of the tooth-replica 6, and are removed from the guide equipment. Then, the standard unit is fitted to the patients teeth, individual brackets 4 are fixed to the patient-s teeth, and other parts are removed. Finally, the tooth-straightening bow-wire is installed in the bracket opening 5.</p> |
