1520433 Water heating systems INGENIORFIRMAET CONSTANTIN BRUN AS 2 Oct 1975 [2 Oct 1974] 40363/75 Headings F4A and F4U In a water heating system in which a gas or oil fired boiler 1 delivers water to heat radiators 13 and/or indirectly heat water in a domestic supply tank 10, a boiler water thermostat 5 operates a switch in the electrical supply line to the burner to maintain the boiler water in a selected temperature range (e.g. 60-66‹ C.); a further switch being connected in series with the boiler thermostat switch 5 with the closure of the further switch energizing a relay 18 to close a relay switch in parallel with the further switch and the relay switch remaining closed at least until the boiler water maximum temperature is reached. In the arrangement shown there are four further switches: an adjustable time switch 16, a switch 17 responsive to a thermostat in the tank 10 to maintain domestic hot water temperature, e.g. 45-50‹ C., a manual push-button switch 19, and the switch of a minimum thermostat 20. The burner 3 is oil-fired and an oil pump 7 is connected in parallel with switch 5 and burner 3. A switch 21 can isolate the time switch 16 when hot water is required in an "off" period of the switch and a switch 22 isolates both the time switch and the tank thermostat 17. When switch 22 is open the thermostat 22 located in the room most likely to be cooled operates to maintain a minimum heating, e.g. 5-10‹ C. |
