The screw prevents unauthorised and undetectable adjustment of a carburettor to ensure that the fuel-air mixture is maintained at a value at wh ich the exhaust gases have an approved composition. The carburettor has a plastics cap (20) with two sleeves (21, 25) of different dias. These sleeves are coaxial and they are connected by a number of breakable connections. Each sleeve has a lip (22, 26) which form a snap fit with a screw of different dias. The top sleeve of smaller dia. has closed end.
