<p>The power assisted steering system has a cavity which houses a sliding rack with ball joints (16) for the wheel steering arms. The rack engages with a pinion connected to the steering column, carrying a powered ram controlled by a valve. The piston can be immobilised by parts engaging in a throat in the rack. One of the cylinder feeds (22) is connected to a feed reservoir on the outside of the case.</p> |
