The electric oyster opener has a handle-like frame (13) in which is an electric motor (1). The motor is coupled to a pusher (2). The rotary movement being transmitted linearly by means of stop pieces. The linear motion is periodical and punctuated and is transmitted to a mobile knife blade (12) which opens the oyster shells. The handle (13) can be made of metal or plastic and has a screwed-down plate (15). The handle also has ventilation holes and a push button.
