The holding strap is for fixing plants such as vines onto tensioning or capture wires and consists of a curved wire piece. The latter has aloop and hook-shaped ends for fixing the plant to the tensioning wire or to the capture wire pair. On freeing the plant from the wires, the holding strap remains in place. While deforming the wire to form the loop, and eyelet is formed simultaneously and this encloses the tensioning wire so that the holding strap can remain hanging on the tensioning wire when it is not in use.
