In the grinding process, the parts to be ground are introduced at one end of a container (1), which is circular-cylindrical or polygonal in cross-section, and thus come into contact with an abrasive medium (B). During grinding, one end of the container is held firmly (2) and the other end is moved (5) on a circular track, with the result that the parts to be ground move, in contact with one another and with the abrasive medium, in helical tracks along the inner circumferential surface (1a) of the container until they emerge at the other end of the container.
