A pulse generator comprises a first (normally conducting) transistor, a second (normally non- conducting) transistor and a third (normally conducting) transistor, the first being rendered non-conducting during the discharge period of a capacitor coupled to its base whereby the second is rendered conductive and the third is rendered non-conductive during the discharge of a capacitor coupled to its base. Operation of switch S1 cuts off transistor TR1 and renders TR2 conducting, feedback through capacitor C1 maintaining this state for a predetermined period in the manner of a flipflop circuit. The decrease in potential of the collector of TR2 causes TR3 to become non- conducting until such time as the charge in capacitor C2 is restored by current in R7. The resulting pulse at the collector of TR3 is applied to a load 10 and causes the capacitor C3 to discharge. At the end of the pulse at the collector of TR3 the positive going potential is transferred through CR3 to cut transistor TR4 off until such time as the charge is restored by current through R9. Accordingly a further pulse, narrower than the pulse at the collector of TR2 and delayed with respect thereto, is applied to load T3. Switch S1 may be a mechanical contact or a transistor controlled by a mechanical contact and the circuit is not responsive to contact bounce. Two circuits similar to Fig. 1 may be provided in which case a pulse from the first load 10 of the other circuit may be applied to capacitor C4 to produce a delayed output pulse also in load 11.</p>
